A brief on what we are doing to our rural, elderly, poor & needy community.

1
Who We Are?

We are a group of like minded friends aiming to provide food & food grains to the elder rural poor & needy community who are literally struggling & starving.

When Did We Start?

In May 2020, when we all were going through the Pandemic period, a discussion among our friends on ways to give back to our society triggered the idea of a charity with an objective to bring real change to the needy community.

What We Do?

We provide food grains to the elderly poor community which includes supplies like rice, wheat, Ragi, rava, maize, oil, groceries and vegetables which can be sustained for 10-15 days per month.

To Whom?

We started initially in urban areas, but we understood sooner there are enough helping hands out there, and made us wonder what is happening in remote villages? We identified and concentrated on those remote villages with vulnerable communities. Most of them are orphans, elderly, either disabled or not able to do any work, abandoned with illness, physically challenged, mentally challenged, widows and destitutes.

How Do We Identify Real Beneficiaries?

We have few Government School Teachers who are working in the rural areas of Dharmapuri as they know the areas well, then they prepare the list of such older people communities which again will be cross verified by either the Panchayat Head, VAO or by the area Tashildar.

How Do We Operate?

With the help of a few volunteers, we procure food grains, groceries and vegetables, which then will be packed in 3 different packs- Rice, Groceries and other Food grains & Vegetables. Then we transport the packages to the respective villages and distribute them to the community at their living places. This is the final check to confirm their socio-economic condition. At times, we use either auto rickshaw or car but mostly on 4 to 5 two wheelers (as there are no proper roads).

For Orphanages:

We provide rice, groceries, and other essential food grains monthly. Plus, we also supply essential items such as: soaps, coconut oil, tooth powder, bathroom cleaning materials to an orphanage centre as the count of the inmates has increased in recent times. We support orphanages whose inmates are mentally challenged kids and elderly people with medical supplies, usable clothes, cooking utensils, musical systems, etc.

Feeding Program for The Poor:

In a village called Adhagapadi, Dharmpuri, there is a Vallalar Mutt and we are supporting the Mutt by giving food grains, oil and pulses. The cooked food is served to close to 60 inmates whose food requirements are taken care of daily.
